There are numerous activities and attractions in the Coastal Carolina area for visitors of all ages. The area is home to over a hundred competition courses. If you’re here with family or on a romantic getaway, the area offers a wide variety of activities. Pack your day bag and head out by car, bike or foot.

Vacationers can enjoy year round golf, pier and deep-sea fishing, parasailing, jet ski rentals, miniature golf courses, a paint your own pottery studio, fishing villages, crabbing, golfing, bird watching and boat cruises.

The Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce Calendar of Events will keep you up to date on area festivals and events such as Ocean Isle’s own North Carolina Oyster Festival.

On Ocean Isle Beach North Carolina there are the Museum of the Coastal Carolinas and the Ocean Isle Beach Community Center which both offer excellent, free children’s programs where they can discover the nature of the coastal environment.

A few minutes drive, between Ocean Isle Beach and Sunset Beach NC, is the Ingram Planetarium where you can explore the heavens.

A short drive away from Ocean Isle Beach is The Silver Coast Winery and Art Gallery at where there is always something interesting and fun to see and do.

A drive to Southport NC takes you to an historic seaport town where can go antiquing at the grand Antique Mall or jump on the ferry and cross over to the peninsula of Cape Fear and Fort Fisher. Fort Fisher is full of history and low country, sea life information.

In the mood for a short a road trip; drive down to Myrtle Beach South Carolina. While here visit South Carolina’s most popular and number one attraction Barefoot Landing. Home of hundreds of theme shops, restaurants, Myrtle Waves Waterpark, and shows, including The House of Blues. Cruise around and find yourself at the Alabama Theater where music events play nightly.

Further down the road is Broadway at the Beach with hundreds of theme shops, restaurants such as The Hard Rock Café, Ripley’s Aquarium and shows nightly at The Palace Theatre.

Be sure to check out the new Hard Rock Park the World’s first Rock and Roll amusement park (140 acres of roller coasters, music and much more!

Visit nearby Orton Plantation – an historic Southern Planation with world famous gardens. Speaking of gardens, Brookgreen Gardens (a few miles south of nearby Myrtle Beach, SC) is also world famous for it’s incredible gardens and collection of sculptures.
