Oyster Bay

OysterBay2For more than 20 years, Oyster Bay has been a favorite choice for Myrtle Beach golfers. Why? Oyster Bay combines a rare, harmonious blend of the penal, heroic and strategic philosophies of golf course architecture.

This challenging course is exceptionally fair- a course where variety and innovation are the names of the game and no two holes are the same. Golf Digest rated Oyster Bay 4.5 STARS in “Places to Play” and ranked it the “Best New Resort Course of the Year.” The par-70 course plays to just under 6,700 yards; however, its cavernous bunkers, wickedly undulating greens and lengthy par-fours make Oyster Bay a true test of one’s mettle.

Norman Course at Barefoot Resort and Golf

Greg Norman’s unique design at Barefoot Resort has only 60 acres of mowable grass existing on all 18 holes. Norman uses tactical landscaping and the site’s natural vegetation to frame each hole. The course also features several holes along the scenic Intracoastal Waterway.

Norman, award-winning designer, is excited about his design, stating “We have a fabulous piece of property with great elevations and the developer has spared no expense to ensure that this course is the absolute best it can be.”Also ranked in Golf Digest’s “Places to Play-2004” and was #28 in the “Top 50 Courses of Myrtle Beach” by Golf Digest.

Meadowlands Golf Club

Immediately after it opened, Meadowlands Golf Club received honors as one of the “Top 10 Best New Courses” from North Carolina Magazine and has since earned a place on the prestigious Golf for Women list of “Top 100 Women-Friendly Courses.” After your first round at this scenic and relaxing 7,045 yard course, you’ll understand why.

Respected architect Willard Byrd put his personal stamp on Meadowlands with distinctive parkland features that follow the lay of the land through mature woods bordered by serene meadows, pristine lakes and vast wetlands. Spacious, gently sloping fairways offer a surprising variety of elevation changes that present a multitude of challenges as they open onto large, immaculately manicured greens. Built to Audubon International guidelines, this course delivers championship quality and offers ample opportunities to view area wildlife in their natural habitat.

Combining challenging play in pleasant surroundings, Meadowlands is so enjoyable that the course quickly makes the list of “must-return” venues for many Grand Strand visitors. Five sets of tees, an open layout, well-defined hazards and exemplary attention to detail create a rewarding round for everyone who comes ready to play. Superb conditioning of the Tif Dwarf Bermuda greens and Bermuda tees, fairways and roughs creates an experience that stands above many area courses. It’s no wonder Meadowlands has earned the title, “The hidden gem of the Carolinas.”

Meadowlands is managed by Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management, the leader in delivering quality golf experiences.
