lpga07logo-c_125pxNancy Tawney turned professional in 1972 and played the Australian Ladies Golf Tour from 1974-1978.

Touring Australia, she played in exhibition matches and gave clinics around the countryside and taught on board the Princess Cruise Lines all around the South Pacific.

Nancy has been teaching golf since 1974. She has participated in two U.S. Open Championships and played on the Women’s Professional Golf Tour from 1978-1982. Due to health challenges, Nancy left competitive golf and became a business owner in her hometown which led to a degree of Doctor of Naturopathy (N.D.) from the Trinity College of Natural Health in 1999.

Always wanting to learn more to help her students enjoy the game, she joined the LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals in 2004. With the ongoing classes of the LPGA T&CP, Nancy has been able to incorporate that knowledge in her instruction.

backtobasics1-110x110-1“I believe that the LPGA has provided teaching professionals with the perfect tools for helping others enjoy this wonderful sport of golf with a greater capacity.”

When she is not teaching or playing golf, Nancy can be seen walking or throwing a frisbee for her Jack Russell terriers. She also enjoys cooking, photography, occasional trap shooting, sharing information about essential oils/herbs, and making soap.

After joining the LPGA Teaching Division in 2004, I have continued my ongoing education with the LPGA by attending its National Education Program and various seminars.

“My philosophy is to teach basic swing fundamentals by keeping lessons simple and understandable. With the use of the LPGA Student-Centered Swing Model and helping the student understand the basic fundamentals and his/her preferences, the student will be able to better understand his/her own unique swing.”

“I like to work with my students on these fundamentals, using swing drills, teaching aids, and video analysis.”

As a Student, you will in turn get a clearer understanding of HOW to make a change and WHY to make a change with your technique.
